Andre Onana had a moment to forget for Cameroon during their 1-0 World Cup qualifying defeat against Cape Verde.
The goalkeeper has faced an uncertain future at Manchester United during the international break as he closes in on a move to Turkey.
talkSPORT understands Onana has agreed to leave for Trabzonspor in a season-long loan deal, after West Ham rejected a deal.
His switch will come after United signed Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp in an £18million deal, with Altay Bayindir a second option.
Onana has struggled in goal for the Premier League giants with 150 goals conceded in 102 appearances since his 2023 move.
And he looked shaky once again when back in action for Cameroon on Tuesday night, this time with his positioning.
Dailon Livramento scored the winning goal for Cape Verde with 54 minutes played after an excellent run from inside his own half.
Whilst the Cameroon defence didn't close him down, Onana stayed close to his line instead of rushing out to make the target smaller.
Reacting to the goal on X, one fan said: "What is he doing staying on his line?"
"Why was he rooted to his goal line?" asked a second.
A third said: "He should have come out and close down the space."
"Shouldn’t he be coming out to block the angle and shot?" a fourth added.
The result means Cape Verde are just one win away from qualifying for their first ever World Cup.
Cameroon on the other hand are second in the group and will have to play in a second qualification round as things stand.
It sparked wild scenes after the match as hundreds of fans stormed the pitch.
A video circulating on social media also shows the 29-year-old shoving a fan away as he made his way off the pitch.
What's next for Onana?
Erik ten Hag oversaw the arrival of Onana at United in a £47m deal following their previous spell together at Ajax.
The 29-year-old won the FA Cup in his first season, but has not been able to consistently impress since then.
Onana didn't feature in their opening three Premier League matches of the season, with Bayindir the chosen goalkeeper instead.
However, he was given then nod in their Carabao Cup second round clash against League Two side Grimsby Town.
Onana was beaten at his near post for Grimsby's opener and then missed a clearance for their second.
United eventually lost on penalties in what could have been his final appearance for the club.
A loan move to Trabzonspor will offer Onana the chance to revitalise his career having impressed with Ajax and Inter.
Trabzonspor are currently second in the Turkish Super Lig and only two points behind reigning champions Galatasaray.
