The official match ball for the 2026/27 Premier League season marks the second year of PUMA’s tenure as the league’s official ball supplier, following the end of Nike's historic quarter-century partnership.
Unveiled under the name PUMA STELLAR NITRO™ ULTIMATE, the 2026/27 match ball brings engineering upgrades alongside a vibrant visual identity designed for elite visibility.
Design & Colour Palette: What Does the 2026 Ball Look Like?
The PUMA STELLAR NITRO™ ULTIMATE features a geometric aesthetic created to stand out under floodlights and on television broadcasts:

Before PUMA assumed match ball duties in 2025, Nike produced iconic match balls that defined eras of top-flight English football:
2016/17 (Nike Ordem 4): Introduced Visual Power graphics and 3D ink printing.
2017/18 (Nike Ordem V): Featured Aerowtrac grooves for stable flight.
2018/19–2019/20 (Nike Merlin): Reduced panel count from 32 down to just 4 welded panels.
2020/21–2023/24 (Nike Flight): Featured AerowSculpt molded grooves to reduce unpredictable air swirl.
2025/26–Present (PUMA Era): PUMA launched its partnership with nitrogen-infused foam technology and high-velocity panel geometry.
